My Swiss Brick Trip Switzerland

Frequently asked questions

What does a set cost?

The instructions are free. The bricks cost depends on the shops you choose and on shipping; each landmark page shows a rough, dated estimate for new parts (about CHF 60–90 for most sets). Ordering several sets at once (a package or your whole trip) saves shipping.

How hard are the models?

Most sets have 650–900 pieces and are rated Intermediate: some sideways building and small details, always shown with arrows in the booklet. Allow three to four hours per set.

How does ordering on BrickLink work?

BrickLink is a marketplace of independent part shops. Create a free account, open the Wanted List upload page, upload our XML file (for one set, a package or your whole trip) and add it to a new Wanted List. Then click Buy All and Auto-select: BrickLink proposes a few shops that together have every part. Each shop ships separately, so fewer shops means less shipping. Set your location to Switzerland or Europe and untick shops whose minimum order you won't reach. We're working on a simpler one-box option.

Can I order somewhere else?

Yes. Brick Owl imports the same XML file (Wishlist → Import). The CSV parts list has LDraw and BrickLink part numbers for any other shop or your own collection.

What is the display stand?

Every set comes with the same black stand along its front edge, with a nameplate area for the printed label in the booklet (landmark, city, year). It's included in the parts list.

Can I get a printed booklet?

Not yet. We're setting up print on demand at cost (you pay printing and postage, nothing more). Until then, the PDFs print well at home on A4 or Letter.

Do I need a particular brand of bricks?

No. The models use standard brick sizes and work with any compatible bricks; we name parts by their BrickLink and LDraw numbers.

Can I share or sell the instructions?

You're welcome to share them for free with credit. Commercial use (selling kits or instructions) needs our permission; see the licence on the About page.
